• Bus: The only recommended bus service is the direct bus from Altofievo metro (grey line, North-West) to Sorochany. Departs Moscow at 5pm and back to Moscow from Sorochany at 10pm. If you decide to go, you need to contact the driver Sergey at +7 095 507-14-66 to confirm he's running the service on the day. It costs 80R ($3), has a luggage space for snowboards and ski, as well as a TV, DVD player, and a fridge. Takes about 1.5 hours to drive, which is a bit of a shame, because if you want to leave the same day you've got only 3.5 hours to snowboard.
• Train: You need to go to Savelovsky train station in Moscow (metro Savelovskaya, grey line, center) and take a local train to Yakhroma (you can also take the ones that go to Dmitrov, Dubna or Savelovo, but will need to get off before -- in Yakhroma). It takes about 1 hour 15 minutes by train to Yakhroma train station, from where you can either take a taxi or a bus #42 (not recommended) to Kurovo village. Total travel time is about 1.5 hours, costs about 160 R ($6) one way.
• Driving: Take Dmitrovskoe Shosse and go outside of Moscow in the North direction. After driving for about half an hour (54 km), after Iksha village you will need to turn right (there will be a sign to Yaroslavl). Then you need to cross the bridge, and right after the bridge turn left. After 10 km in Iliinskoe village on a T-crossing, you need to turn left and after a 2-km drive you'll be in Sorochany. Park your car there and use the underground pass to come out to Sorochany. The journey takes about 1.5 or 2 hours from the center of Moscow, depending on the traffic. • Flying: The tickets start at $300 US return (from Europe) and $450 (from USA), but you can also use budget snowboard-friendly airlines. such as EasyJet, to get to Riga (Latvia) or Tallin (Estonia), where you can take a train to Moscow for about $50 US one way. If you book early, your whole journey (return) from London or Berlin (through Riga) will cost you about $160 US. As the resort is 54 km away from Moscow in the north direction, the closest airport is Sheremetyevo, where most international flights (except British Airways and Swiss) arrive. A taxi would cost about $50 US, alternatively you would have to go to Moscow and then take a bus or a train to get there.
