Nassfeld, Austria

110km of varied slopes and not a Brit in sight. Nassfeld is located in the far south of Austria, near to the Italian and Slovenian border in the Carinthia region, and whilst a little low in altitude; it has some really cool terrain. Unlike many lesser known resorts, who try to big themselves up by claiming their blues are reds, Nassfelds grading is spot on. With the majority of the slopes red, Nassfeld is perfect for the intermediate rider or the fast learning beginner looking to push themselves.

The resort is spread over 4 aspects so you can ride in the sun all day and as long as you don’t mind a draglift it’s easy to navigate.

Nassfeld doesn’t really have a village heart, and as such is very chilled out in the evenings so don’t expect too many of the mad drunken nights you’ve come to expect from boarding in Austria, however this makes it ideal for those with a young family. If you do want a bit more life stay down the hill, connected by gondola, at design winning Cube Hotel. It’s got; cheap rooms a kicking bar, a cellar nightclub and ramps to the rooms so in the summer you can ride your mountain bike right to your hotel door.
