HIT THE SLOPES TO RAISE MONEY FOR MENTAL HEALTH
Next Saturday (6th October) The Manc Banked Slalom - Manchester’s first indoor banked slalom competition – is coming to BEYOND, Manchester’s home of adventure, to raise money for the mental health charity Mind.
Cross Snowsports UK, who work alongside snow sports athletes to help them develop their skills, have partnered up with Mind to bring something different to Chill Factore’s slopes with ALL donations going to the charity.
Every year across the UK one in four people will suffer from a mental health problem. Last year more than 6,000 people sadly took their own lives, including 18-year-old Ellie Soutter, who was set to represent Great Britain in the next winter Olympics.
The charity Mind work hard to ensure that every person receives the most immediate and effective care when it comes to treatment for mental health problems. They offer advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
With all donations on the day going toward the charity those hitting the slopes to compete also have the chance to win various exclusive prizes from each of the five different competition categories.
The categories include; Under 12’s, Under 16’s, Open, Para and Team. With registration taking place at 7:30am till 10:30am on the day.
Those who aren’t ready to compete yet can enjoy all the action from the viewing platform at the Snow Bar and take part in posting on social with the #mancbankedslalom.
