The line up now boasts even more top names from the clubbing scene including Zed Bias, Eliphino and Josh Butler as well as a whole host of underground artists such as Tuesday Born, Wilfred Giroux and Voyeur. They will be joined by a previously confirmed jaw-dropping selection of industry and dance floor big hitters such as Kerri Chandler, Âme, Catz ’N Dogz, Andreya Triana, Roy Davis Jr., KiNK, Phaeleh, Dub Phizix, and dBridge.

 

 

 

Zed Bias aka Maddslinky, one of the forgers of breakbeat garage, is now also heralded as a dubstep pioneer. His 2000 hit ‘Neighbourhood’ is now widely regarded as one of the all time classic UK Garage tracks. As a trailblazer of underground dance music, this Manchester based producer is always moving with – or ahead of – the times and his productions from over the years continue to grace the playlists of Radio 1 specialist DJs, also making themselves at home in the record boxes of world-class DJs. Emerging from the Leeds’ underground scene with his early self-released singles and 2011’s ‘More Than Me’, the now London-based Eliphino has developed his sound palette from his earlier influences of Madlib-esque hip-hop towards a blend of house and garage. In doing so, he’s caught the attention of the likes of Gilles Peterson, who included him on his Brownswood Electric compilation, and most recently dropped the ‘Undivided Whole’ EP on the Somethinksounds label.

 

 

There are plenty of labels fighting over the music of Josh Butler, which is bass driven, sumptuously groovy and places plenty of emphasis on melodic top lines. So far his music has been released on MTA Records, OFF Recordings, Pura Music, Cajual and Definition and has sat pretty in various charts across the web, as well as being found in all the right DJ bags in clubs worldwide. Testament to his skill in the studio is that he is as comfortable working with the house heads likes of Darius Syrossian or Hector Couto as he is remixing internationally recognised, Glastonbury headlining megastars like Chase & Status.

 

Horizon 2014 is set to retain its status as a forward thinking music festival, while offering a slightly broader spectrum from the dance genre including House, Techno, Garage, Bass & Groove. The latest confirmed line up embodies these genres; incorporating both trailblazers on the underground scene, as well as those rather more established acts who offer a nod to the heritage of dance music.

 

Not only are major artists lining up to play at Horizon but the industry’s most prominent record labels and brands want a slice of the action too. Record Label Takeovers, Showcase events & club partnerships have already been confirmed with the likes of MadTech Records, Electric Minds, Trouble Vision, tief, Pets Recordings, Vagabondz, Hit’n’Run and Pack London. Horizon 2014 is shaping up to be an electronic music lover’s dream and the sheer weight of those looking to add their support to the festival says it all.

 

On top of this huge line up, Horizon 2014 will once again offer the best value snow festival around; Prices start at only £279pp for 6 days and nights of cutting edge electronic music across 30 incredible parties at 20 unique venues, 6 nights of accommodation with pool or spa use and 5-day ski pass with access to the whole mountain. Thoughtful extras for Horizon 2014 include free daily yoga classes in Bansko, spa packages, discounted ski/snowboard lessons for festival-goers and a dedicated festival hotel (The Gardenia), bringing a 24hour element to the party. The Secret Hotel has a newly erected Snowboard Park with pro rider demos and trick tips throughout the day. Still the place to be for Après Ski, with music from 2pm everyday, festival-goers can ski into The Secret Hotel at any time to catch some slick tricks and good sounds. A further mountain stage just off the piste, The Forest Stage, is a spectacular yet secluded arena that uses the surrounding snow to enhance the atmosphere and deepen the sound. New to 2014, The Forest Stage will have an eclectic selection of DJs and live acts from 2pm everyday. The atmosphere at both The Forest Stage & The Secret Hotel heats up throughout the afternoon, bringing a banging warehouse style party vibe (minus the walls) to the mountain later in the evening. You can ski into both mountain stages or get the bus up from town – it’s up to you.

 

The party continues each night in town across 20 spectacular venues that include the Ibiza-like, multi level Euphoria, the Medieval Banquet Hall at The Gardenia, the cave-like Oxygen, disco ball heaven The Club and more. The music carries on until 6am, leaving just enough time to catch some zzzs before hitting the slopes all over again. No time for a hangover and certainly no place for one in the fresh mountain air.
