Katie Ormerod through to Dew Tour final
Katie Ormerod has qualified for the Snowboard Slopestyle finals of the prestigious Dew Tour after finishing 5th in yesterday’s semifinals.
Aimee Fuller just missed out on Finals but took away a strong 8th place finish overall. Yesterday also saw the ladies Ski Slopestyle Semi-Finals take place where despite having a great practice session, Katie Summerhayes unfortunately fell in both runs of the competition. Katie Ormerod will now go on to ride in Friday’s final aiming to match her recent Pleasure Jam win.
In the men’s competitions, this year’s New Zealand World Cup winner James ‘Woodsy’ Woods rides today in the Ski Slopestyle semifinals, with Jamie Nicholls competing in Friday’s Snowboard Slopestyle semi-finals. Both athletes will be hoping to make the finals on Sunday.
In Copper Mountain, the US Rev Tour continues after the Snowboard Halfpipe earlier in the week where Ayla Thidling locked in two strong results with a 16th on the first day and a 13th on the second day of competition. Ben Kilner, who is returning from injury finished in 26th in his first comp of 2015/16, unfortunately falling on day two.
The Ski Halfpipe Rev Tour kicks off today with Pete Speight, James Machon and Murray Buchan in the Men’s contest and Rowan Cheshire, Madi Rowlands and World Junior Halfpipe Ski Champion, Molly Summerhayes representing in the Ladies’ Ski Halfpipe. Competition starts today (Thursday), with a second event on Friday.
