The Dew Tour returns to Breckenridge this week!

Breckenridge brings the Dew Tour back with Slopestyle and Superpipe events running throughout the week.

As one of the top winter resorts in their capacity to hold a major early-season event, Breckenridge Ski Resort will once again support the top international men and women’s snowboard and freeski athletes to compete in superpipe and slopestyle competitions, while downtown Breckenridge will play host to streetstyle competitions, music and more.

UK Snowboarders Jamie Nicholls, Aimee Fuller and Katie Ormerod- fresh from her Pleasure Jam win will be competing in Slopestyle. Jamie will compete in the semi-finals on Friday hoping to make finals on Sunday, whilst the ladies have one round of competition, with finals on Saturday.

Men’s Snowboard Superpipe

Semifinal: Thursday, Dec. 10, 2:30 p.m. ET, DewTour.com
Final: Saturday, Dec. 12, 2:30 p.m. ET, NBC and DewTour.com

This field is wide open. Although his last Dew Tour victory came in 2010, the always-stylish Danny Davis looks to be one of the favorites. He is just one of several former winners in the field, along with Olympic gold medalist Iouri Podladtchikov, Louie Vito, Greg Bretz and defending Dew Tour champion Taylor Gold. Japan’s high-fliying duo of Ayumu Hirano and Taku Hiraoka will be in the mix as well, as they look to breakthrough for their first Dew Tour victories.

Other Notables: The Ferguson brothers, Ben and Gabe, are both in the field and have sky-high potential. … Yiwei Zhang and Scotty James both finished on the Dew Tour podium in 2014. … View the full athlete list here.

Women’s Snowboard Superpipe

Semifinal: Wednesday, Dec. 9, 11:30 a.m. ET
Final: Saturday, Dec. 12, 12:30 p.m. ET, DewTour.com

The field features two former Olympic gold medalists, Kelly Clark and Hannah Teter, but there will be a lot of focus on 15-year-old phenom Chloe Kim, whom many expect to become America’s next Olympic gold medalist in the discipline.

Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle

Semifinal: Friday, Dec. 11, 2:15 p.m. ET, DewTour.com
Final: Sunday, Dec. 13, 3:45 p.m. ET, DewTour.com

Consistent Canadian Mark McMorris will attempt to reclaim his slopestyle championship after seeing his two-year winning streak snapped in 2014 at the hands of Chas Guldmond. McMorris’s Canadian counterparts Sebastien Toutant and Max Parrot are always threats to reach the podium as well, and Norway continues to field a strong list of riders that includes Staale Sandbech, Sven Thorgren and Emil Andre Ulsletten.

Other Notables: Eric Willett is a Breckenridge local who has two previous Dew Tour wins to his credit. … Tyler Nicolson, another strong Canadian contender, finished third at last year’s Dew Tour contest. … Ryan Stassel was a member of Team USA at the 2014 Sochi Olympics where snowboard slopestyle debuted. … Gjermund Braaten won slopestyle at Dew Tour Breckenridge in 2011. … Marcus Kleveland recently landed a quad cork. … 15-year-old Red Gerard will make his Dew Tour debut. … View the full athlete list here.

With Olympic gold medalist and the all-time leader in wins (9) among all snowboard athletes at Dew Tour, Jamie Anderson, out due to injury, this title is up for grabs. The strong international field includes Finland’s Enni Rukajarvi, New Zealand’s Christy Prior, Norway’s Silje Norendal, Austria’s Anna Gasser and Canada’s Spencer O’Brien.
