Introduction

About 1 hour west of the Swedish resort of Riksgransen lies Narvik, a hidden treasure in snowboard circles. With only 5 lifts and a summit that only just gets over 1000 metres, Narvik isn't your typical holiday resort: it's a small-town situated at the foot of a superb mountain, with lifts only opening in the afternoons on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays. The busiest times are in February and Easter, but other than that, lift lines are practically non-existent and being located so far north, tour groups have never heard of this place. This helps to keep the slopes free of sad two plank numpties.
