Back Country at Jakobshorn

Rated 10 out of 10 Absolutely amazing resort. Late March and the powder was around for three days off piste... I was following my own tracks all weekend as everyone seemed to feel content on the pistes but me?

Deep powder with amazing steeps and prolific views.

Be ready or beware the Teufi run at Jakobshorn... STAY to the RIGHT! Massive cliffs are not to be messed with as the trees are too thick to drop into... It was the highlight of my 35+ day season but it was also the most dangerous.

Davos was supposed to be expensive but I got away on the relatively cheap as compared to Vail or Copper Mountain.

Davos was our first time on the piste and a better place to start couldnt have been picked. The board school was awesome and the slopes at the bottom were ideal for beginners. The nightlife was varied and lively with a real mix of bars and clubs for every taste. The only drawback really was the cost of drinks which could turn any night into an expensive one.

The hotel and food was great, the resort facilities were superb and the Ooh La La Spa and Wellness is amazing with outdoor thermal pools to while away those aches and pains after a days boarding. There was only one small problem....... You have to go naked!! Hey, it was a laugh and a great way to loosen up!

Overall, well recommended for anyone looking for a great boarding and partying venue with a chilled out and trully snowboard orientated attitude.

Rated 8 out of 10 Wicked boarding area with loads of great off piste runs. Just watch out for the avalanches they are not fun!! Quite expensive as resorts go but it worth it and is a working town not just a satelite town turned into a ski village. They even have summit meetings here, a MacDonalds and Burger King!!
