Colorado Resorts Have A Weekend of Heavy Snow Fall
After a slight Barren spell the Colorado region kicked in to action after the New Year with heavy snow fall in a number of resorts!
Aspen/Snowmass has seen half a foot of fresh snow since yesterday, and the first 10 days of January have seen more than a foot and a half of snow fall. With a snow base of more than 11 feet of snow conditions are excellent. Over 93 percent of the terrain open and base depths are 50 to 75 percent greater than last year .

Crested Butte is boasting the best snow in the Colorado region and has seen well over 10” of fresh snow over the weekend. With powder conditions and a 100% of the terrain open current conditions can only be described as epic.
In Breckenridge the historic opening of Peak 6 has been met by equally impressive achievement on the snow front. Nearly four feet of snow fell this month, and the resort is more than half way to its average January snowfall alread!
At Beaver Creek, the recent storms have allowed Ski Patrol to open the renowned Stone Creek Chutes, a favorite area of the mountain among expert riders.
Elsewhere in the region powder days and above average snowfall can be found at Vail, Breckenridge and Keystone. Since Jan. 1, thsee Colorado resorts have received up to four feet of snow, with even more forecast to fall this weekend.

- Vail: 32” of snow with nearly 5,000 acres of open terrain and 30 lifts.
- Beaver Creek: 26” of snow with 1,776 acres of terrain open and 24 lifts.
- Breckenridge: 46” of snow with 2,382 acres of open terrain and 33 lifts.
- Keystone: 21” of snow with 2,328 acres of open terrain and 19 lifts.

Breckenridge
Despite being an expensive location, this is a super good resort with great snowboard terrain, and excellent local services. If you want to ride an amazing park with something for every one and which is groomed and maintained daily, this is the place to come.
Beaver Creek
Great grooming and solid steeps - at a steep price Beaver Creek's steeps and rollers are great for freeriding, and the grooming is second to none. Beginners can also take advantage of their nationally ranked ski and ride schools. Nightlife is expensive, befitting the well-heeled crowd that prefers furs to fleece.
Aspen
Sits right on the edge of town. Some surprisingly good steep runs, but zero freeride opportunities and for a park you best head to Buttermilk or snowmass
Colorado
Located in the Western side of the US in the Southern Rockies. Colorado is home to many a household name of resort including the likes of Vail, Breckenridge, Aspen. The resorts are high in altitude and very snowsure, and very straight forward to get to if you're flying into Denver.

Absolutely fantastic mountain offering great riding for ever style and level of rider. Great local services in and around the resort with lots going on.
