Davos, Switzerland

Introduction

Davos is not just a major snowboard resort, it's also a massive town that offers just about all you need to have a cool time. This very happening place offers the lot; tons of deep powder, loads of trees, big natural hits, half-pipes, fun parks, a boardercross circuit and night riding. All this on 200 miles (320km) of fantastic snowboard terrain, on slopes that hold the snow well.

Davos is located in an area that makes it ideal to check out many other resorts, including the famous retreat of Klosters (the place where Prince Charles and Prince Harry first tried snowboarding Points for Harry, yer he has the makings of a rider, but dad, stick to skis Sir. As for William, well see). However, back to Davos which is a resort that needs to be visited a number of times if one is to ride the whole area. Davos itself, has a bit of an attitude when it comes to money, but it's a working town and so far less snobby than other similar places. More importantly, Davos offers access to some major snowboarding terrain - there's enough stuff here to keep any rider busy for a long time. There are two main areas and most snowboarders head for the runs on the Jakobshorn, which can be reached with ease.

New for season

06/07: the Pischa ski region will be turned into more of a freeride area. 3 pistes will be unpisted
